We're pleased to share that Simon Millar, our Mechanical Fitter apprentice has been awarded the third place prize at this years Kings Silver Medal Competition ceremony, held last week in London.

The competition recognises outstanding final year apprentices from the
maritime and marine engineering sector across the whole of the UK.

Simon previously undertook a weeklong transformative leadership course in October 2025 which was designed to stretch and inspire young talent, with a programme combining self-assessment, peer feedback, and individual mentoring. All eighteen participants received a personal development report, which was reviewed by a Shipwrights’ Company panel to select the six finalists.

Everyone at FMPG is delighted for Simon, and so proud of this amazing achievement!
